INEC releases the total numbers of PVCs collected in each states

Ahead of the rescheduled Presidential and National Elections, the Independent National Electoral commission, INEC, has reassured Nigerians of it commitment to conduct a free and fair Elections across the country. The INEC chairman Professor Mahmood Yakubu stated during a press briefing in Abuja that the commission is 100 percent ready for Saturday's poll. Yakubu used the opportunity to further remind Nigerians that the total numbers of registered voters across the federation remains 84,004,084 and the total numbers of collected Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) as at February 11, 2019 is 72,775,502. The Honourable chairman of the commission also stated that there all large numbers of registered voters who failed to collect their PVCs. The total numbers of uncollected PVCs is 11,228,582. FG declares Friday public holiday

Ahead of the forthcoming general elections,  the Federal Government of Nigeria has declared friday, February 22nd, 2019 as public holiday. The announcements was made by the honourable minister of Interior Lt. Gen. Bello Dambazau in  Abuja on Wednesday night. The holiday is to ensure that people return to their various polling units so that they can be able to vote in the reschedule Saturday's poll. However, the public holiday will exclude banks and other industries that offers essential services across the Nation. " The Federal Government declares Friday, February 22nd a work free day, those offering essential services and bankers are excluded. " " The work free day is to enable citizens return to their polling units for the rescheduled Presidential and National Assembly elections." "Sercurity agencies has been directed to ensure the safety of lives and properties before, during and after the general elections."

BREAKING NEWS: INEC Reschedules 2019 General Elections

INEC Chairman The Independent National Electoral commission ( INEC) has postponed the Presidential and the National Assembly elections as well as the Gubernatorial and House of Assemblies elections. The INEC chairman Prof. Mahmood Yakubu announced the new development at a press conference in INEC headquarters in Abuja . He made the announcements at about 2:30am today, Saturday, February 16, 2019. He cited challenges on logistics as the main reason for the postponement of the general elections. Some of the States where logistics challenges occur are Ekiti and Niger states. The new date for the Presidential and National Assembly election has now been scheduled for Saturday, February 23rd 2019 and the Gubernatorial and House of Assemblies elections moved to Saturday, March 9th, 2019. 7 steps of voting as released by INEC

INEC Chairman Prof. Mahmood Yakubu Ahead of tomorrow's Presidential and National Assembly elections, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, released seven valid voting procedures that must be followed by the electorates. The seven voting procedures are outlined on the electoral body's website. The steps as outlined by INEC are as follows. STEP 1: Upon arrival at the Polling units, join the queue and present yourself to INEC officer APO111, at the polling unit who will whether you are at the correct polling unit and check if the photograph on the PVC matches your face. If satisfied He/she will direct you to the next INEC official (APO1). STEP 2: The official (APO1) will request for your PVC to confirm that your card is genuine and your details, using the smart card reader. He/she will ask you to place your finger on the card reader to confirm that the PVC belongs to you by ascertaining, the card reader will contains the name, photograph and finger pri

Breakdown of the total numbers of eligible voters in each states

Ahead of the forthcoming general elections in Nigeria, the Independent National Electoral Commission,INEC, has released the numbers of registered voters in all the 36 states of the federation. The body responsible for the conduct of free and fair elections has released the numbers of registered voters in each states that make up the federation. INEC chairman Prof. Mahmood Yakubu has made it clear that the total numbers of  registered voters is 84,004,084. According to INEC, Lagos state has the highest numbers of registered voters with 6,570,291 eligible voters while Ekiti state has the lowest numbers of registered voters with 909,967 eligible electorates. The mouthwatering Presidential election and the National Assembly elections will take place on Saturday,16th of February 2019 while the Gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections will take place on the 2nd of March. Acting President Yemi Osinbajo says under the N100 billion social housing scheme of the present administration, anyone who can afford N30,000 will be able to own a house. He said this at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa on Monday at an event tagged "A Smile for Every Nigerian" organised to commemorate the administration's second anniversary. The acting president explained that the housing scheme was part of the administration's social intervention programme that had not been mentioned. He said: "This is 100bn set aside for the Family Home Fund our Social Housing Project. The 100b is a yearly contribution to our N1trn Social Housing Fund, the largest in the history of the country. Teachers may soon earn higher salaries than other workers in the country. Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu dropped the hint while inaugurating the Governing Councils of Federal Colleges of Education in Abuja on Thursday. He said the teaching profession had ceased to be an “all-comers affairs”.  Represented by the Minister of State for Education, Prof. Anthony Gozie Anwukah, he said government had understudied the Malaysian educational system and decided to take a critical look at teaching and teacher education. Oshiomole's wife, 334 others bags Nigeria citizenship certificate

According to NAN, Adams Oshiomhole's wife Lara Oshiomhole and 334 others has been granted Citizenship by the Federal government of Nigeria. The certificate of citizenship was presented to the 335 recipients by the minister of interior Retired Lt-gen Abdul rahman Dambazua, the Minister urged the Foreigners to be good Ambassador of Nigeria. He also disclosed that 245 of the approved Foreigners were granted citizenship by Nationalization while the remaining 90 were by registration.

Lagos State Government Unveils Free Wi-fi Internet Service In Public Parks

Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode has launched a free public WI-FI Internet service, as part of the activities to mark 50 years of Lagos State existence. The Governor, who was represented by the Commissioner for Science and Technology, Olufemi Odubiyi, unveiled the facility, with partnership with Onemedia cable yesterday Thursday, May 11, 2017. Odubiyi, revealed that virtually all parks in lagos state would have the free WI-FI Internet access facility. The Governor also state that the provision of free WI-FI Internet access facility was part of the efforts of his Administration to Make Lagos State a smart state.
