FG declares Friday public holiday
Ahead of the forthcoming general elections, the Federal Government of Nigeria has declared friday, February 22nd, 2019 as public holiday.
The announcements was made by the honourable minister of Interior Lt. Gen. Bello Dambazau in Abuja on Wednesday night.
The holiday is to ensure that people return to their various polling units so that they can be able to vote in the reschedule Saturday's poll.
However, the public holiday will exclude banks and other industries that offers essential services across the Nation.
" The Federal Government declares Friday, February 22nd a work free day, those offering essential services and bankers are excluded. "
" The work free day is to enable citizens return to their polling units for the rescheduled Presidential and National Assembly elections."
"Sercurity agencies has been directed to ensure the safety of lives and properties before, during and after the general elections."
