INEC releases the total numbers of PVCs collected in each states

Ahead of the rescheduled Presidential and National Elections, the Independent National Electoral commission, INEC, has reassured Nigerians of it commitment to conduct a free and fair Elections across the country. The INEC chairman Professor Mahmood Yakubu stated during a press briefing in Abuja that the commission is 100 percent ready for Saturday's poll. Yakubu used the opportunity to further remind Nigerians that the total numbers of registered voters across the federation remains 84,004,084 and the total numbers of collected Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) as at February 11, 2019 is 72,775,502. The Honourable chairman of the commission also stated that there all large numbers of registered voters who failed to collect their PVCs. The total numbers of uncollected PVCs is 11,228,582. Ekiti State House Of Assembly Slams Fayemi with N1m Fine

The Ekiti State Assembly on tuesday April 11, slammed a fine of N1,000,000 fine on the Minister of Solid Mineral development. The fine was imposed on the former Governor of the state for refusing to honour the invitations by the lawmakers. Naij reports that Fayemi has been in a running battle with the government of Ekiti State as well as it's House of Assembly. Reacting to Fayose’s allegations in various fora that the minister was working with some justices of the Supreme Court to sack him via a review of the ruling of the apex court, Dr Fayemi told journalists in Ado-Ekiti that he would rather not comment. “You know that I would never join issues with Governor Fayose. He is entitled to his opinion and he is free to entertain himself, so let him continue to entertain himself. At the appropriate time, he would meet his comeuppance don’t belong in the mud, so he cannot drag me to the mud. Truth is always constant and I know posterity is there to judge,” he added.

Housing: Nigerian govt provides N500 billion to FMBN for mortgage facilities

The Federal Government says it has provided N500 billion to resuscitate the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria, FMBN, to make mortgage facilities easily available to Nigerians. Mustapha Baba-Shehuri, the Minister of State for Power, Works and Housing, announced this in Lafia on Monday when he called on the Nasarawa State Deputy Governor, Silas Agara. The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the minister visited the site of a National Housing Project in Lafia. “The resuscitation of the bank with N500 billion will provide the institution with adequate funds to provide mortgage facilities to interested Nigerians. “The Federal Government in its quest to provide shelter to Nigerians, has recently directed the FMBN to waive the payment of 10 percent equity on mortgages below N5 million. “This will greatly enhance the transition of low income earners from tenants to home owners,’’ he said.
