Seven facts you need to know about Real Madrid prodigy Rodrygo Goes


The youngster played the best game of his life last night, he scored a hat-trick at the Santiago Bernabeu, in the champions league group A clash between Real Madrid and Galatasary.

Such magnificent performance will further endeared the young Brazilian in the heart of the Bernabeu faithfuls, who had been starved of such an amazing performance since Cristiano Ronaldo left for Juventus in 2018.

Rodrygo, who only made his first team debut in September has now scored five goals in six appearances for Los Blancos.

1. He was a product of the famous Santos Academy in Brazil
He was born in Osasco, Brazil on the 9th of January, 2001. He started as a futsal player before he made it into the famous Santos Academy, the same academy that produced the likes of Pele, Neymar and Robinho.

2. First Player Born in 21st Century to score in UCL
 He is the first player born in the 21st Century to score in the history of the most prestigious club football competition, the UEFA Champions league.

3. Son of an Ex Footballer

His father was a former footballer. He played at right back but he never made it passed the Brazilian Seria B  because he was not as good as his son.

Eyeballs were raised when it was confirmed that Real Madrid paid 45 million to sign the youngster from Brazilian Seria A. Side, Santos. Now the price is looking like a bargain.


5.Second Youngest player to score a UCL hat-trick
According to Opta record, Rodrygo is the second youngest player to score a hat-trick in Champions League history after Raul Gonzalez in 1995.

6.Youngest Brazilian to score in a UCL game 
The 18 year-old is also the youngest Brazilian to score in a champions league game. That's a feat many great Brazilians footballers can't boast of.

7. Fastest Brace in the Champions league History
The former Santos player also hold the record for the fastest Brace in the history of the UEFA champions league. He achieved this feat when he scored a six minutes brace against the Turkish side last night.
