Diego Costa is better than Alvaro Morata - Chelsea legend says
Chelsea and Italy legend Gianfranco Zola told sky sport that Alvaro Morata is not on the same level as Diego Costa.
The former West Ham manager said he prefer the Brazil-born forward to the former Juventus and Real Madrid striker.
Zola, who scored 80 goals in over 300 appearances for the Blues, also commended Costa's decision to leave the Chelsea after he received a text from Antonio Conte, informing him that he is not in his plan for the following season.
"I have no doubt that Costa did the right thing," Zola explained, "he obviously had problems, the team is not formed by one players, and I think it was best he left. "
Chelsea brought in Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid to spearhead their attack after it was clear Diego Costa will leave the club but yet Zola does not believe Morata is as good as the man he is replacing.
"As of today, Morata is not on the same level as Diego Costa. Technically, he is great player. Obviously he has many qualities; he's good in the air and with his feet.
Morata is currently the joint top scorer in the premier league with six goals alongside Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku and Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero.
