Barcelona president slams Neymar's Manner over his move to PSG


Barcelona president Joseph Maria Bartomeu has hit out at Neymar over the manner of which he moved to Paris Saint-Germain and he also claimed that they have reported the move to the European football governing body (UEFA).

Bartomeu said they tried to persuade Neymar not to leave but he has made up his mind to part with the Blaugrana. He also said that the Brazilian has now become a history at the Catalan club.

"Neymar is now history and he wanted to go, he told some Barcelona fans at a meeting in the Catalan city.

"He could have been clearer before and the way things were done was not right.

"There are ways to do things, no one can be bigger than the club and we have reported the move to UEFA.

The president said that the €222million they received from PSG for Neymar will be used to strengthen the side, he also said that the money will be used 'wisely, sensibly and strictly'.

His words: 'Now we are looking for alternatives and whatever happened here it is in the end good for Barcelona because if he had stayed with us then we have a great player and now he's gone and we brought in a lot of money. '

He continued: "the 222 million euros will be spend sensibly, strictly and wisely. It will be used to improve the club and with this it means that we are in great position to sign players.'

The Barça chief also took time to aim a jibe at French giant Paris Saint-Germain. He said: 'We are a club of 118 years with great players and over 140,000 members and it is owned by us.. the members and not by a Sheik or Oligarchy.

Bartomeu ended his speech by praising the loyalty that Lionel Messi and Andrea Iniesta has shown to the club.

"The loyalty shown by Leo Messi or Iniesta should be an example. Messi will continue to be the leader of this club. ' he said.
