Nelson Semando joins Barcelona from Benfica

Barcelona has signed Portuguese full back Nelson Semando from Portuguese giants Benfica, the player will cost the Catalans €30m plus €5m in add-ons.

Semando is Ernesto Valverde's second signing since he takes over from Luis Enrique, who resigned last season.

Although the two clubs have not made the move official but various sources insist that Semando has signed for the Blaugrana.

The 23 year-old full back, who has been capped six times by Portugal national team, became the second most expensive defender in Barcelona's history, following the 36 million euros Barça paid Sevilla for the service of Dani Alves in 2008.

Semando, who joined Benfica in 2015, made over 60 appearances, scoring four goals for the Portuguese Premiera Liga Champions.
