Mesut Ozil close to signing new Arsenal deal
German midfielder Mesut Ozil is close to signing a new contract with Arsenal after they offered him £280,000 per week.
The ex-Real Madrid midfielder who is in the final year of his previous contract is close to reaching an agreement on a new deal.
The 28 year-old was holding out for £350,000 a week deal, but has accepted Arsenal's offer of £280,000 after the Gunners failed to meet his demand.
The German international joined the Gunners from Real Madrid in a deal worth £37.4 million in 2013. He has made over 150 appearances, scoring 32 goals for Arsenal.
Meanwhile, French ligue side, Paris Saint-Germain are confident of signing Alexis Sanchez, whose contract with Arsenal remain only one year.
PSG are willing to meet Alexis Sanchez's demand of £350,000 a week as they plan on landing the £50 million rated forward.
