Everton signs England and Manchester United Legend
Wayne Rooney has completed his move to Everton after leaving Manchester United on a free transfer, Everton confimed the move on Sunday. Rooney rejoined the club where he began his professional career on a two years deal.
Everton football club has announced the emotional return of youth academy graduate, Wayne Rooney, who left for Manchester United in a 26.4 millions euro deal in the summer of 2004. Manchester United has agreed to pay some portion of Rooney's wages, according to sportmail report.
The former Manchester United captain waved goodbye to Old Trafford after spending 13 years with United, he depart as the club all time highest-goalscorer after breaking Sir Bobby Charlton's record against Stoke last season.
"Winning trophies with Everton would be the pinnacle. I really feel now the club is moving in the right direction, bringing the right calibre of players in. I want to be part of it and hopefully part of Successfull Everton team. " Rooney said at his unveiling.
"it is a great feeling to be back.i am excited and I cannot wait to meet the lads, get on the training pitch and then get back on the pitch to play. I'm ecstatic - I just cannot wait to start playing again." he continued.
"I'm excited and I'm excited by the signings that the club as made. This club is moving forward. This football club should be winning trophies and we are taking huge steps of being involved and trying to win trophies."
The 31 year-old said he is looking forward to his first match back with the Meseyside club, he also said the match will be an emotional one . His word: "Am not just coming back because it's the team I support, the club I grew up playing for - am coming back because I feel the club can move forward and be more successful on the pitch. "

Wayne Rooney's new coach Ronald Koeman praised his ambition and winning mentality, the manager also said that he is delighted the ex-Manchester United captain decided to join him at the Goodison park. Koeman said: "He loves Everton and he was desperate to come back. He is still 31 and I don't have any doubts about his qualities. It's fantastic he's here.
Wayne Rooney, who made his professional debut in 2002 at the age 16, scored 17 goals in 77 appearances in all competitions in his two year spell at the Goodison park before leaving as an 18 year-old for Manchester United, where he won numerous trophies, in 2004.
