AC Milan close in on Italy international
Milan have been very active in this transfer window and their spending looks set to continue with the acquisition of Juventus centre-back Leonardo Bonucci.
During his time in Turin, the Italian has won six Serie A titles, three Coppa Italia trophies, and three Supercoppa Italianas, while also reaching the Champions League final on two occasions.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Rossoneri would pay 40 million euros for the 30-year-old and he would sign a five-year contract worth 7.5m euros per season.
In addition, Bonucci would also be able to earn an extra 2.5m euros in bonuses, taking the total to a potential 10m euros per year and making him the highest paid player in Serie A.
This will be Bonucci's return to the city of Milan, having played for Inter from 2005 to 2009, and he joins the likes of Andrea Pirlo, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Roberto Baggio, among others, who all played for the trio of Milan, Inter and Juventus.
