IFAB are also set to scrap added time in football. They also suggested that players should be allowed to pass to themselves during freek-kick and corner kicks. And the most bizzare suggestion of all was that teams should be docked points if players surround the Referee to protest his decision.
Chelsea and Italy legend Gianfranco Zola said he support the decision to reduce the duration of the game. The former West Ham United manager told BBC that the proposed rule is not a bad one.
His words: "I personally like this rule because there are so many team who try to take advantage of it because they are winning and wasting time. So I think it's not a bad rule."
"Football is fast enough. Some of the changes I don't like very much, but this (proposed game length) is a good one."
