Ex Golden Eaglet playmaker joins new club

Former Golden Eaglet and Flying Eagles  midfielder, Rabiu Ibrahim has joined Slovekian side Slovan Bratislava from Belgium club Genk, according to reports.

Rabiu Ibrahim, who joined from Slovekian Super League side AS Trencin,  was surplus to requirements after making just 8 appearances in all competitions for Belgian side, Genk last season.

The 26 year-old midfielder, who was seen by many as Jay Jay Okocha's heir, will be keen to reignite his career at Slovan Bratislava next season after his injury hit 2016/17 season.

Ibrahim was a member of Nigeria U-17 team that conquered the world at the FIFA U-17 World Cup  in South Korea in 2007. He played seven matches and scored three goals as Nigeria went on to win their third U-17 World Cup titles.

The former PSV, Celtic, Kilmarnock and Sporting Lisbon player has been capped five times by the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
