European football has seen many goal scorers in over 100 years of its existence, but no player in history has scored more league goals than the Real Madrid star.

Former Tottenham and AC Millan goal poancher Jimmy Greaves is the former holder of the record. The ex England international scored 366 league goals in 566 appearances.

Cristiano surppased Greaves' feat with his 367th goal against Valencia at the Santiago Bernabeu. The goal put Los Blancos ahead, he missed the chance to score a brace when missed a penalty.

Ronaldo scored three times for Sporting Lisbon, he scored 84 premier league goal in six seasons for Manchester United.  The Portuguese superstar moved to Real Madrid for a then record transfer fee in 2009.

The ballon d' Or winner has scored an astounding 280 league goals in 262 appearances for Real Madrid since he made the move England to Spain.

Ronaldo's goal against Valencia was his 20th league goal of the season. The goal also marked the eight consecutive season he has scored 20 or more goals in the league.
